LADDER OF SUCCESS AND DILIGENCE

“Seeth thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before Kings; he shall not stand before mean men”.

This verse of the bible revealed plainly the direct answer to the most important question of man; the question of “how” to become successful in life. This verse revealed to us two determinants of success which are;

Business: No man becomes successful without work. i.e a service rendered to others. The first step in the pathway of success is finding a service to render to other people.  Why? Success is not directly a function of wealth but the level of service rendered to the lives of others. The first thing that matters in the school of success is “SERVICE”. Service comes before rewards. Life works on the basic economics concept; the concept of law of demand and supply. Supply is the service you are ready to offer for sale, that people are willing to pay for a specific price (demand). The level of your service is proportional to your reward system. Do you want to be successful, then, you need to increase the level of your service. Increase the value or contribution you are bringing to people. People can pay any amount for any service that is meeting their needs. Nevertheless, do not let us forget that success is not firstly about the reward attached to services but the impact of your service to the lives of others. Success is always firstly about service.

Diligence: This is act of being or bringing the best out of something. This is why a man that is diligent in his or her business definitely becomes the best in his or her work and sort for by high personality; those who want the best, go for the best, and can pay any amount for the best. Diligence makes a man not only to be useful only to mean men but also to become sort for by high personality. Every man must aim to be diligent in his or her business that his or her service can grow from serving not only the grass root but the pinnacle. Diligence brings heavy reward due the quality of service being rendered. The goal in the school of success is growing to become diligent in one’s business or service which brings heavy rewards. Do you want to be heavily rewarded in your service? Strive to be diligent thou it requires a lot of demands.

Many people never become diligence in their service because of its demands which are;

(1) Consistency: One of the demands of diligence is consistency. A man that cannot stay consistent cannot become diligent because diligence is a state of mastery and mastery is an effect of consistency which is the ability to keep on doing or learning something in spite of challenges and hurdles until achievement is made. It is believed that the key to mastery is consistency.

 (2)Hard work or commitment: This is another demand of diligence. Hard work or commitment knocks off procrastination and laziness. Those who become the best in their service are those that have learnt to commit their time, resource and money to learning their service until they know every atom that makes up the substance of their service. They are people who keep working on their service everyday; never pushing forward what needed to be done today.

The sky is spacious to accommodate everyone to the service of kings but it is always a few people who are found serving kings because only a few people meet up with the demands of diligence.
